About Me

My photo
Maybe it's more like 354 Days of the Ortiz Family... I seem to be the definition of "a day late and a dollar short." But it's a picture a day of our lives and a way to chronicle 2010. (maybe longer?)

I couldn't pick just one, so here's two pictures for tonight. :)
Mikayla has started fractions in math... the best part: she's doing great with them! For someone who has to work extra hard in math, she has come home from school twice saying she had "a great math day!"
Every night we do "Best & Worst". When we're sitting down at dinner, we go around the table describing our days. Then, at the end we have to pick the one best thing that happened during the day & the worst thing that happened. You don't have to have a worst, but you have to have a best. This has become the easiest way to learn about her days and not fall into the "How was your day?" "Fine" mode (which her Aunt Dawn LOVED to do.)
So for her to have her "best" as math? This is music to our ears!! We're so proud of her.

At Alex's 6 month check up, the pediatrician said we could try giving him small finger foods (cheerios, gerber graduates, etc.). So while Hector & Mikayla were at the store tonight, they picked up some gerber banana puffs. His pediatrician warned us that, like the rice cereal and other first foods, he needs to get used to it and may gag at first. Here is his first reaction to Hector feeding him a banana puff. The next two pictures (which I didn't think needed to be posted) are of him regurgitating his last bottle. Mmm, tasty!
