About Me

Maybe it's more like 354 Days of the Ortiz Family... I seem to be the definition of "a day late and a dollar short." But it's a picture a day of our lives and a way to chronicle 2010. (maybe longer?)

Happy President"s Day!

We took advantage of the holiday & played tourist by checking out the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa. (Typically, we're trying not to see the "big" attractions Oahu has to offer, wanting to wait until family/friends come so we can experience them together. We took a chance that this would not be on any of our guests' "must see" lists.)

The best attraction there, by far, was the huge Pineapple Garden Maze. In 2008, it was declared the largest in the world. & folks, it's no joke.

You get a card to stamp at 8 different stations. & they time stamp the card, to potentially have your name on their "Top 3" finishers board. (We were nowhere near the top. It took us over 2 hours & I think the winner was something like 30 minutes...)

& we're off!

Little Dude tuckered out about half way through. He & Hector sat under a shaded tree while Mac & I finished up.

Our Guide:

Then there was the Pineapple Express train that took us through the fields. A much needed break after getting lost in the maze a bajillion times...

Overall, it was a good day. I'm glad we did it with just us, though... it's certainly not something I'd recommend for any visitors who come see us. ;-)
